Replace and modify an image
With Seelab, you can easily modify images using advanced inpaiting functions, allowing you to add or modify elements while maintaining the original style of the visual.
There are two ways to select an image for editing:
from the creation flow: hover over an image and click on the “edit” button
from the “editor” tab: you can then upload an image from your computer for editing.
Then make sure you've selected the “replace” tab in the toolbar to the left of the editor.
You can select the replace tool directly by using the shortcut (i key).
When you arrive at the “replace” tab, the “brush” tool is directly selected.
Hold down the mouse button and draw the area you wish to modify.
In the right-hand column you'll find a number of tools to help you correctly select the area of the image you wish to modify.
Image zoom: you can either use your mouse, or use the + or - buttons on the interface.
Image position: you can “center” the image, or choose to “adjust” it (to fit the height), or “fill” the frame (to fit the width).
History: when editing the image, you can navigate through your different iterations using the arrows or shortcuts (ctrl + Z or ctrl +Y).
In the right-hand column you can:
modify the size of your brush, for greater precision or, on the contrary, select a larger area
delete the selected area, if you wish to start again from scratch.
Use this switch if you wish to select the opposite area to what you have drawn. This can be very useful if you want to keep only a small part of the original image.
Then describe what you want to change on the selected area using the prompt window at the bottom of the application and click on the “generate” button. Here we'll add a hat to the magnificent Labrador retriever created earlier.
keep your prompt short and concise
It is not necessary to add injection verbs (add, modify, transform...).
the prompt you add will only modify the selected zone
In the right-hand column you can play with the inpainting creativity balance slider.
Defaulted to the middle, we only recommend playing with this slider if you're having difficulty achieving a satisfactory result.
Keep the image: if you wish to have a modification closer to the image style/better integrated, push the slider more to the left.
Better creativity: if, on the contrary, you want Seelab to be more creative, push the slider more to the right.
Inpaiting is sometimes capricious and tends to make modifications “consistent” with the image context.
After a few seconds, Seelab will suggest 3 modifications, which will appear in the bottom right-hand corner of the application. You can click on each generation to see a larger version.
Validate the image you wish to keep by clicking on the “select” button.
If you wish to modify the selection area, click on the “cancel” button.
If you're not satisfied with the results, you can relaunch a batch of 3 proposals by clicking on the “more samples” button and scrolling to the bottom of the proposals.
Sometimes Seelab may not add or modify anything in the selected area. If this is the case, try enlarging the area to be modified a little, or move the balance slider towards “best creativity”.
Once you've selected the proposal that suits you, you can then iterate and modify other parts of the image.
