Edit a video, with example prompts

The Edit tab of the Video space modifies an existing video without remaking it: replace a product, change a color, the setting, the lighting or the camera angle. The original motion and framing are kept.

The Edit tab: the source video, a reference image, the engine and the instruction

Edit a video

  1. Source video: import an mp4 or webm video of 3 to 30 seconds, 50 MB max. The pencil on a feed video sends it straight here.
  2. Multi Refs: add the images to integrate, for example the photo of the product that should appear.
  3. AI Engine: choose the editing engine. The cost is shown in credits per second of source video.
  4. Video Prompt: describe the change, then what must stay identical.
  5. Launch.

Example: replace a product

The photo of the Squalane oil is added as a reference (Image 1).

Replace the mist held in the hand with the pump bottle from Image 1, keeping its shape, its label and its green color. Keep the hand movement, the setting, the lighting and the framing identical.

After, same moment

What you can change

Replace a product (with a reference image)

Replace the bottle held in the hand with the product from Image 1. Keep the motion, the setting and the lighting identical.

Change an element's color

Change the shirt's color to sage green, without changing anything else.

Change the setting

Replace the background with a white marble bathroom, morning light. The product and the hand stay identical.

Change the time or the weather

Same scene at sunset, low golden light.

Add a light rain behind the window.

Change the camera angle

Same scene filmed from a slightly high angle, the camera above the product.

Add or remove an element

Add petals slowly falling around the bottle.

Remove the plant on the left.

Change the style

Turn the video into a soft 3D animation, same motion and same framing.

Writing the instruction

  • What changes, then what stays: describe the change, then what must stay identical (motion, framing, lighting, product).
  • One change at a time: chain several passes rather than one instruction that changes everything.
  • Name your references: "the product from Image 1". The number is shown under each thumbnail.

Engines don't all offer the same options: accepted references, maximum duration, sound preservation. Check the options after choosing the AI Engine.

Glossary

  • Source video: the video to edit.
  • Multi Refs: the images to integrate into the edited video.
  • AI Engine: the editing engine; its cost is shown per second of source video.
